General

These general terms and conditions (AGB) regulate the contracts between the client (guest, lodger, leaser, charterer, agent) and the bekpek kiel GbR Heinen/Bauer ( Hostel).

Contract

Objects of the contract are the leasing of rooms, beds, bikes and all other work performed for the client by the hostel.
The contract is concluded by the booking of the client and the confirmation of this booking by the hostel.
The client has to confirm the booking two days before the arrival via phone or e-mail. For specal events (Kiel week, triatlon etc) the confirmation has to be done according to the special advise given in the booking confirmation by the hostel. Without the clients confirmation, the hostel is not obliged to keep the rooms/beds free.

The cost for the first nights stay will be charged if guests do not show up or do not cancel their booking until 12.00 the day of arrival.

General terms of the client are only valid after a written agreement between hostel and client.

Allocation

Clients can get their booked rooms/beds earliest after the checkout of the former guest and the cleaning. (for checkout time: see house rules)

Paying and deposit

All fees have to be paid in cash at arrival.
Bills without determined paying date have to be paid within 10 days.
For the key a deposit has to be left at the reception: this could be either 50€, passport, identity card, driver's licence or bankcard.

Comission and Cancellation

Groups of 8 or more persons have to pay a comission of 30% of the total price within 14 days after the booking. The money has to be paid to Postbank BLZ 20010020, account no. 845841206.
The commission will be paid back in case of cancellations until 14 days prior to arrival. If the booked beds will be cancelled later (within the last 14 days before arrival), the commission will be kept by the hostel as cancellation fee and will not be not paid back.

House rules

The house rules (see end of the text) are part of the AGBs. If clients do not follow the house rules, the contract can be cancelled immedeately and they have to leave the hostel.

Liability / bail

The client is liable for damage he causes in or at the building, the interior or with the bikes. He shall be responsible for complying with relevant statutory regulations of the national law of the Federal Republik of Germany.

Lost keys have to be paid by the client. One key costs 50 €, payed in cash at checkout.

The hostel reserves the right to take a bail of 50€ per person in advance, especially for members of groups. The bail will be paid back at departure, less compensation for damage caused by the guests.

Due to the house rules smoking is not allowed in the rooms. If clients smoke in the rooms, they have to pay 50€ for cleaning.

The hostel is not responsible for cars or bikes parked on the parking area around the house.

Final clause

Place of fulfilment and payment is the bekpek kiel GbR Heinen/Bauer.
Court of jurisdiction and venue is Kiel, Germany.

The contract is subject to the law of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Salvatorian clause

Should any individual provisions in the above options terms be or become invalid, either in part or in full, or impracticable, this will not affect the validity of the other provisions. The invalid or impracticable provision will be replaced by a ruling that is as close as possible in economic purpose to the invalid or impracticable provision in a legally effective and practicable form. The same will also apply in the event of any unintended omissions.

• The reception is open from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. and from 16 to 20 p.m.
• The key opens the front- and back door of the house, the floor door and the room door.
• Please be cautious of other guests at night – they might be sleeping.
• Please switch off the lights when leaving the bathrooms, toilets and rooms.
• The kitchen is free for everyone, – please make sure that everything is clean and in its place after using it.
• Smoking and eating is prohibited in the rooms. Please feel free to smoke in the smokers lounge and on the balcony.
• Please check out by 11.00 a. m. (we charge an additional 50% if this is done later) – if you stay longer, please contact us at reception.
• Please return the key and the bed linen when checking out- then you will get back your key deposit.
• For your own safety: Do not leave any valuables in the rooms. You can leave them in our safe.
